A Bunch of Amateurs

Jefferson Steele, the former Hollywood action hero, is keen to boost his flagging career, and he flies in to England to play King Lear in Stratford – only to find that far from being the birthplace of Mr Shakespeare, he is actually booked to appear in a sleepy Suffolk village. And instead of appearing alongside such greats as Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench, his fellow actors are a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre from the developers.

Jefferson’s monstrous ego, vanity and insecurity are pushed to the limit by the enthusiastic am-dram thespians. As acting worlds collide, and Jefferson’s career implodes, he discovers some home truths– along with his inner Lear!
