Ayckbourn’s experiment with time

Broadstone Players Theatre Company bring much-loved playwright Alan Ayckbourn’s Time of my Life to Broadstone War Memorial Hall theatre in Tudor Road, Broadstone, from 15 to 19 May every evening at 7.30 together with a 2.15 matinée on the Saturday.

The immensely ingenious play is set in three different periods of time. in a small Italian restaurant in Northern England. The Strattons have gathered to celebrate mother Laura’s 54th birthday. Elder son Glyn and his wife, Stephanie, have vowed to give their marriage another go. Shiftless younger son Adam has brought his latest girlfriend and his current enthusiasm, a magazine dedicated to local arts. Soon, two chunks of the narrative split off, one spinning forwards and the other backwards in time.

Tickets can be reserved for collection on the door by phoning 01202 678449 or emailing honsec@broadstoneplayers.co.uk. They will also be on sale at Broadstone News and at Wimborne Tourist Information Centre from 21 April. Seats are £6.50 on the opening night and £8.50 for all other performances.
