P&P Players are presenting The Edge of Darkness by Brian Clemens and directed by Frank Holden at the Barrington Theatre, Ferndown, from 28 to 30 September and are in need of a male with a playing age of late 50s to mid 60s to play the part of Max Cranwell.
The play is set in the Cranwells’ house on an isolated, craggy coastline around the turn of the 20th century. Having been found in a hospital by her parents (Max and Laura Cranwell) after her disappearance several years ago, Emma’s homecoming should have been an event of unalloyed happiness. Soon, however, it seems there is something strange about the situation. Emma’s memory is damaged, which may be why there is much she does not recognise, much that does not quite fit. But why does she appear familiar with certain Russian phrases, why has she such a horror of a harmless silver bell, of a portrait on the wall, and of knives?
