When is a choir like a whisky?

Viva Voce is a newly formed choir delivering a fully formed sound likened to a Scotch whisky: mellow and well-blended. Winners of the Bright Cup at this year’s Bournemouth Music Festival, they are now turning their talents to ‘Because We Sing’ an evening of well-known songs from all genres. Titles include medleys from Les Miserables, Gershwin and Rodgers & Hammerstein, as well as songs such as ‘Bring me sunshine’ and ‘Blue skies’. Conducted by Jean Chambers with pianist Mary Potter, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The venues are: Highcliffe Castle on 20 September, Merley House on 30 September and the Shelley Theatre on 7 October, all at 7.30.
